Thursday 2 Jun 2022 © Orania.Acoustic Grooves Carly Quiroz meets Topo Gioa Carly Quiroz, grand pianoDaniel "Topo" Giogia, cajón, congas, cymbals, hand percussion Orania.Stage Daniel "Topo" Gioia, born in Rosario/Argentina, began his self-taught studies of percussion at the age of 15. In 1988 he became the best conga player of the "Latin Percussion Competition" in Germany. He made performed live with John Newton, Giora Feidman, Lalo Schifrin, Oreste Vilato and Raul Recow of "Santana", among others. Carly Quiroz was born in Concordia Argentina in 1973, he began studying piano at the age of 5 and graduated from the Fracassi Conservatory as a trained pianist at the age of 15. Later he won numerous prizes in different competitions from composition to interpretation. Since 2008 he lives in Berlin, where he is constantly active in various projects as producer, bandleader and musical arranger.

Right in the middle of the late summer of 2020, the Berlin family trio Stereofysh released TINY REVOLUTION, which couldn't have been a better match for these months. In a time when nothing seems to fit together anymore, the longing for light electro pop songs and memories of the good old days in the outdoor pool with an ice cream cone awakens. For Stereofysh fans this EP is a logical development of the previous albums, for new friends it is the perfect kick-off into the band's electronic sound aquarium.

In his own words: “I play simple melodies with a lot of heart”. Born and raised in the south of Brazil, Rossano played keys and synths in many different bands during his youth, being involved with composition, electronic and also classical music since he was a teenager. After a period of working in a studio, he soon started to produce and record the pieces he was composing. This path lead him to work with film music, composing for several films, documentaries and series, that were broadcasted by HBO, Netflix, arte, ZDF, ARD and Canal Brasil. He also writes and produces songs for other artists. His latest own releases are: ‚Healing Harmonies‘ and ‚Maria’s Waltz‘ and can be found in all the streaming services.

Originally from Istanbul, D.$AHIN came to Germany in the early 1990's with her family as refugees and was granted asylum and eventually citizenship as a teenager. Growing up between the two worlds of traditional Turkish music (she studied Saz, the Turkish 'guitar') and western pop music shaped her instincts as a singer early on. She represents the third generation of musicians playing and spreading the tradition of "universal music", created by her godfather, the musical genius Hermeto Pascoal from Brazil. For many years she was part of the famous Brazilian band Itiberê Zwarg e Grupo and played stadiums and clubs all over South America. In 2016 she founded her „Sexteto Universal“, uniting 6 musicians from 5 different countries. Since then the band has performed at clubs and festivals in many European countries as well as Brazil. Their highly acclaimed debut album „Nascentes“ (that also features Itiberê Zwarg and Hermeto Pascoal) was released in 2020. Tonight, she forms a trio with 2 of her bandmates. They will perform Mariana’s original music as well as classic Brazilian songs.

This duo performs 'all time favourites' and their own compositions. Matti Klein is a brilliant jazz pianist and was a founding member of the German jazzfunk cult band Mo' Blow. His passion for vintage instruments like Wurlitzer and Rhodes Bass are the main inspiration for his own current project Soul Trio. Since 2013, he has been the musical director and keyboardist for worldwide performances with Brazilian soul-jazz icon Ed Motta. Tayfun Schulzke uses a wide range of unusual percussion instruments. He learned African rhythms and expanded his skills especially with Indian tabla (Prof. Sankha Chatterjee / Calcutta), Cuban conga (rumba with J.A.Mehnert) and cajon. In addition to studio work, acting and television appearances, Tayfun Schulzke has also performed at various festivals.
